The nature reserve extends from the Braies/Prags Valley to Dobbiaco/Toblach and on to Alta Badia. Its vast expanses of pine forests are the perfect environment for countless species of fauna, though there are also extensive Alpine pastures and meadows.
Two nature trails, the Lärchensteig and Lake of Dobbiaco/Toblach lead through diverse landscapes and provide information on the local flora, fauna and geology.
The nature reserve visitor centre focuses on the formation of the Dolomites, the famous cave bears in the ‘Caverna delle Conturines’, fossils and three terrariums contain amphibians and reptiles found in the nature reserve. The centre’s grounds contain a small pond and a botanical nature trail.
