An Alpine hike

A leisurely spring walk

Over the pastures of Monte Regolo/Regglberg

The Dolomites don’t just beckon you outside to hike and have fun here in Val Gardena/Gröden, but they offer fascinating excursions in South Tyrol’s south, too!

Spring is the perfect time for long walks and hikes throughout South Tyrol, including in the Dolomites and the surrounding area! A hike that is especially wonderful during springtime here at our family accommodation in the Dolomites is across the Alpine pastures of Aldein beneath Corno Bianco/Weisshorn, visiting magnificent Bletterbach gorge. It begins at the hiking car park in Lerch above Aldein next to a small chapel and leads over route number 8 to where it crosses route 11A and continues over route 15 to Schönrastalm hut. At the next fork, turn right onto route 2A, which takes you to Lahneralm hut, slightly above the GEOPARC Bletterbach visitor centre belonging to the gorge of the same name – also known as South Tyrol’s Grand Canyon. Finally, take the Gorzsteig path to Schmieder Alm hut, the last step in your pasture walk, which is only 15 minutes away from your starting point. On the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Corno Nero/Schwarzhorn and Corno Bianco/Weisshorn and the verdant Bassa Atesina/Unterland.
