Up to the Kreuzjoch saddle

 
This delightful walk in the area of Avelengo/Hafling is practicable all year round including in winter and leads to the Meraner Hütte refuge. It is located on the sunny side of the mountain with superb views and excellent snow conditions. A trail leads from the Meraner Hütte up to the Kreuzjöchl, the highest point in this area. From there you can savour the glorious 360° panorama and return along the same route, continue to San Genesio/Jenesien via the Salten mountain, or walk down to the Val Sarentino/Sarntal via the Auener Joch saddle.
