The municipality of Appiano/Eppan boasts more castles and noble residences than anywhere else in Europe, revealing how important and fought-over this territory was in the Middle Ages. This ‘three castles’ circular walk takes in the castles Boymont, Hocheppan and Korb.
The walk begins at Korb Castle in the village of Missiano/Missian, from where it leads through vineyards and orchards to Hocheppan and the Kreideturm tower. The Hocheppan valley is crossed via secured wooden steps to reach the ruins of Boymont. Refreshments are available in all three castles. The walk is especially delightful in autumn.
Walking time: 2 hours from Korb Castle
Difference in elevation: 1,106 ft/337 m
Recommended season: March to October
