An appetising autumn

Autumn | South Tyrol | Tip for families | Cuisine

“Törggelen” time is here again!

Let’s take a closer look at what we can look forward to.

Have you heard of South Tyrol’s delicious “Törggelen” tradition? Let us tell you all about it!

Every autumn, people flock to South Tyrol’s farm guesthouses to taste the sweet, young wines, accompanied by a delicious traditional menu. The evening begins with a classic charcuterie board with fragrant “Speck” ham or homemade sausages, cheese, and crispy “Schüttelbrot” bread. A hearty barley soup is then served as a starter, or alternatively you can often choose between traditional “Schlutzkrapfen” ravioli or “Knödel” dumplings. The main course is a meat platter with various meats and sausage varieties, sauerkraut, and potato fritters. Make sure you try a little bit of everything and find your favourite! For dessert, you’ll enjoy sweet pastries filled with jam or poppy seeds. The crowning glory of the experience are the freshly roasted, piping-hot chestnuts.
When you come to our hotel in South Tyrol for your holidays, you can enjoy “Törggelen” experiences for the whole family. Definitely not to be missed!
