Grape and fruit picking for the whole family

Three generations, golden autumn nature, and countless stories: Experience the magic of autumn with us in the Val Gardena/Grödner Tal valley.

The morning sun peeks through the hotel curtains. Clara excitedly wakes her grandpa: “We’re going fruit-picking today!” The whole family can’t wait to get going: Mum and Dad pack drink bottles and snacks in their rucksacks, Grandpa puts on his straw hat from the old days, and Grandma makes sure there’s something sweet for later. They set off on a guided tour through vineyards and apple orchards.

At a vineyard surrounded by bright colours, Clara and her brother Leo receive a basket. “Only pick the ripe grapes,” says the farmer with a friendly wink. While they’re picking, Grandpa tells the children how he used to help with the grape harvest as a child, with dirty hands and muddy shoes.

Best of all, the farmer says they can munch on some of the sweet grapes and crisp apples as well as putting them in their basket. The kids also learn all kinds of interesting things about autumn and working in the fields. And the parents? They snap photos of the children’s and grandparents’ beaming faces and simply soak up the moment.

The day continues with an energy-boosting picnic: crusty bread, flavoursome Speck bacon, fresh fruit juice, and lots of happy smiles. Then it’s time to head back to the hotel, where everyone finds their favourite spot: The kids play in Lino Land, the grandparents relax in the lounge, and the parents treat themselves to an hour in the spa.

For dinner, the chef has prepared a meal with fresh seasonal produce. The family rounds off the day with a glass of apple juice (or young wine for the grown-ups). Three generations, one table, and an experience that’s full of autumn nature, family, and love.
