Pristine natural beauty

Alto Piano Lazaun in Val Senales

Val Senales/Schnalstal is known for its mighty glacier, which has shaped this unique stretch of land. Discover this untouched piece of nature on a hike.

There are still places where we can feel the full power of nature. Such places are the Dolomites (our hotels’ location) and the Alto Piano Lazaun/ Lazaun-Hochbene. This unique, untouched stretch of land was formed by the mighty Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier, whose waters once reached far into the rustic valley. There are magical things to discover up here like a mysterious moor, for example, or the active rock glacier. The alpine flora is also unique. Did you know that the smallest tree in the world grows on this plateau? The dwarf willow. If you move slowly and quietly, you may be lucky enough to meet marmots, rock partridges, and ptarmigans. The best way to reach this enchanting plateau is on foot. The hike begins in Kurzras and leads you via the path (1/A10) first to Valle di Fossalunga/Langgrubental and further to Lazaunhütte (path no. 11A). From there, you climb over a slope to the plateau. After a snack at Lazaunhütte, you can either walk along trail no. 11 or take the cable car back down to the valley.
