No moaning. Just adventure.
Adventure hiking trails around Sexten
Children who happily keep walking. Parents who can relax and enjoy. Unrealistic? We beg to differ. You’ll find just that on these trails in South Tyrol.
Are we nearly there yet? How much longer? I’m tired. My feet hurt. I’m hungry. He pushed me! Which do you hear when you go on a hike with your kids? Probably all of them. Maybe just in a different order. But you won’t hear any of that in South Tyrol – as long as you choose an adventure hiking trail, that is. Because they tell your little ones exciting stories, provide them with mysterious puzzles, and offer them plenty of space to play. Your children won’t be able to get enough of hiking – we guarantee it.
Here are our favourite trails around Sexten:
The Milk Mile
Moooo! The Milk Mile takes you along the stream from Moos to Sexten. Just follow the signs. Ten stations await you – and at each one, you’ll find a piece of the puzzle that answers the big question: what actually happens between milking the cow and munching on cheese sandwiches? Kids can milk the wooden cow (well, pretend to), shake the butter churn, and at the end you can taste the delicious products in the show dairy.
The Fairy Tale Trail
Psst! Did you see that, too? Between the trees, half hidden – there was something there. Wasn’t there? The adventurous Fairy Tale Trail starts at the church in Sexten and leads past the small forest chapel into the world of Dolomites legends. Peculiar wooden figures line the path – figures from the ancient Dolomites legends, half human, half fantasy. Some friendly, some creepy, all mysterious. The children will whisper enthusiastically in your ear instead of complaining at the top of their voices. And at the end of the hike, tasty refreshments await you at the Jäger hut.
Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal valley
The Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal valley is almost too beautiful to be real. A level path suitable for pushchairs, a view of Mt Cima Una/Einserkofel, mountain huts serving fluffy Kaiserschmarrn pancakes – and a playground with trampoline at the hut at the end of the valley. The perfect route for anyone who prefers to put their energy into marvelling rather than climbing.
