The Ortler Ski Arena is South Tyrol’s second-largest interconnected ski area. Here there are no queues, neither on the roads nor at the lifts, and no commotion on the slopes. The individual resorts boast state-of-the-art facilities, while below in the valleys villages have retained their original character. The absolute certainty of snow cover, rich diversity and abundance of space are the defining characteristics of the Ortler Ski Arena. All-year-round skiing is available on the Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier with 35 km of perfectly prepared runs. In winter children attending the ski school are looked after all day free of charge in the Skiland ÖtziLino.
The Schwemm-Alm in the west of South Tyrol is the ski resort for families and sports enthusiasts. The majority of runs are situated above the timberline in open terrain with plenty of variety. In the lower parts the runs wind in broad lanes through the dense forest. Among the 18 km of runs graded easy to medium, the 5 ½ km piste from the Muteck down to the bottom lift terminal is among South Tyrol’s longest and most varied. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere in snug log-built huts and the magnificent views make the Schwemm-Alm truly memorable.
