These two bathing lakes – one large, the other much smaller - are located in the extensive forest in the municipality of Appiano/Eppan at an elevation of approx. 1,640 ft/500 m. Both have been scooped out by glaciers.
There is an extensive sunbathing lawn with swimming pools and equipped playgrounds beside the large lake, and deeper into the forest, a much smaller lawn, jetties to dive in from etc at the small lake.
They are popular walking and cycling destinations and both warm up to very bearable temperatures in summer. The area is a protected biotope and there small restaurants and snack bars offering local fare. A nature trail leads around the small lake.
