In our Christmas bakery …

… we’re baking walnut biscuits!

Delicious and easy to make: walnut biscuits. We share our recipe for this classic with you.

At our family hotel in Italy, we’re already preparing for Christmas. Here comes our special recipe: walnut biscuits.
For about 40 biscuits, you need:

  • 300g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50g chopped walnuts
  • 250g butter
  • Margarine for greasing

And here’s what you do:

Combine the flour, baking powder, icing sugar, salt, walnuts, and butter to form a smooth dough. Cover it with cling film and put it in the fridge to chill. After about an hour, roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of one centimetre and cut out your favourite shapes. Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake them for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
After cooling, you can decorate the walnut biscuits however you like: dip them in chocolate, sprinkle them with chocolate shavings, ice them with any colour … there are no limits to your imagination. Have fun!
