In Valle Isarco/Eisacktal and the towns and villages near our ski accommodation in the Dolomites, everything is currently revolving around chestnuts. In October and November, in keeping with the autumn spirit, the chestnut weeks are held from Bolzano to Vahrn. Majestic chestnut trees line the hiking trails, which are gloriously colourful in autumn and invite you to enjoy long walks, while the eateries in the participating towns and villages serve you delicious autumn dishes featuring the spiky nut. You can look forward to pasta with chestnut sauce, chestnut mousse, chestnut puree, and so much more. All of that makes autumn taste irresistibly delicious! Let yourself be inspired, perhaps you’d like to try cooking one of the dishes at home and bring some autumn aromas into your kitchen. Of course, there are also chestnut-themed days in other areas of South Tyrol. We’ll be happy to tell you all about them and give you helpful tips for hiking and indulging in autumn.
