Sunrise on the way to Sciliar
Towards the sunrise
Our first steps in the darkness are still uncertain, but soon we get used to the unevenness of the ground. Our walk becomes safer and we begin to enjoy the silence of the night, freed from the noises and other influences of civilization. Our hearing can concentrate on the surroundings. We sensitively perceive sounds and let them affect us. As the light increases, the perception of nature expands. Slowly the daylight takes over and our interest is directed more and more to the horizon, where the origin of the brightness comes from - we approach the sunrise. A new day begins...
Admittedly, leaving the cuddly warm bed at such an early hour requires a lot of motivation. But at the latest, when the first rays of sunshine are visible behind the eastern mountain peaks, the last traces of tiredness and effort are forgotten. The light that illuminates the mountains of the Alpe di Siusi shortly before sunrise is something very special. When the darkness slowly disappears, the sky on the horizon turns pink, yellow, red or bright orange until finally the sun itself appears behind the mountain silhouette.
Route of the tour:
We hike from the Seiser Alm (1830 m) over the tourist trail on the Schlern (2450 m). With a fantastic view over the Alpe di Siusi we enjoy the sun rising behind the mountains. A hearty breakfast awaits us in the Schlernhaus. After we are strengthened and rested, we walk over the Thomastal down to the Sesselschwaige and over the Prügelweg to the Völser Weiher and back to Seis.
Ascent: 650 hm
