Arrival and booking conditions
Can I enter South Tyrol without problems?
Since 3 June 2020 Italy's borders have been open again. Citizens from the European Union and the Schengen area are free to enter Italy as well as South Tyrol. However, people who have previously stayed in or transited through the European countries Belgium, France, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain, and Great Britain must, on entry, provide negative PCR test results not older than 72 hours or get tested. They are obliged to report to the local prevention department of the competent health centre within 48 hours, either by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 0471 435 700. Citizens who have stayed in Romania during the 14 days preceding their arrival in Italy must quarantine.
Is it possible to enter the country by public transport?
Regional and long-distance trains as well as long-distance buses run without restrictions according to the timetable.
Are there special corona safety regulations in Italy for journeys in private cars?
If all passengers live in the same household, there are no provisions. Otherwise, a minimum distance of one metre applies even when travelling in a private car. If the distance is less than one metre, all passengers must wear mouth and nose protection.
What does the current travel warning of the Robert Koch Institute mean for our planned holiday in South Tyrol?
This travel warning is not a travel ban. It is only connected with the obligation to report to the local health authorities after entry and to start a 14-day quarantine immediately, unless you can provide a negative test result not older than 48 hours. The federal states are responsible for the concrete implementation of these measures. New regulations are expected to come into force on 8 November 2020.
I am an Austrian or Swiss citizen. Can I spend my holiday in South Tyrol without any further requirements?

Can we get tested in South Tyrol?
We recommend that you get tested in your country of origin, even though there are some accommodations and private healthcare facilities in South Tyrol that offer tests.
