Trostburg

The Trostburg stands proud on a spur of rock guarding over Ponte Gardena/Waidbruck on the eastern side where the river enters the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal gorge. It is one of the most famous castles in all Tyrol. The Trostburg is reached in a short walk from the village centre of Ponte Gardena. The main attractions are the stunning interior of the castle and the recently opened permanent exhibition featuring the history and development of South Tyrol’s castles with 86 models built to scale.
